A popular social tradition in Italy, aperitivo comprises snacks and drinks to be enjoyed in a bar before dinner. Milan is believed to have started the tradition in the early 1920s, and other Italian cities quickly caught onto the trend.

Your aperitivo tour will begin at Piazza della Repubblica in central Florence, where you’ll join up with your guide and set off across the Ponte Vecchio to the Oltrarno district. As you meander through the streets, your guide will fill you in on the aperitivo scene in Florence.

Stroll to a wine bar for a flavorful glass of Chianti Reserve or Brunello di Montalcino, two top-notch Tuscan blends. Your wine will be complemented with local prosciutto, an array of creamy cheeses and wild boar salami. Learn about the characteristics of each wine from your guide as you sip and how they pair with your snacks.

Continue toward the Piazza Pitti, where you’ll enjoy a house cocktail with snacks at another wine bar. The aperitivo dishes tend to vary, but typically include Tuscan favorites such as bruschetta drizzled with garlic and tomatoes.

Finally, head to meet a Florentine mixologist at a local cocktail bar. Choose from a selection of classic Italian cocktails to sample, then enjoy as you hear local stories related to the bar's cocktail selection. Your tour will conclude back at the meeting point, where you're guide will be more than happy to provide tips of what else to see, do, and eat in Florence.

Best aperitivo tour in Firenze! Stefania was awesome!
, Nov 2021
The tour could have been ruined by weather when suddenly the temperature dropped into the 30sF and the hail started. But luckily the winds stopped and the rain ended as we met with our guide. Stefania. I cannot say enough wonderful things! Her knowledge of the atras was impressive and her choice of places for aperitivo very special. I have spent considerable time in Firenze and typically do a few of these tours just to get ready for my vacation. I am SO glad I picked this one! Do NOT hesitate, cancel any other plans and sign up for this tour and if your lucky to get stefania, you will be even more glad you did! Grazie mille amica Stefania!

Linda led us on an amazing Aperitivo tour through the city while giving a brief history of Florence. The three places we stopped were great and very busy - so a good sign! Linda was personable and such a delight.

Wonderful tour even with kids!

Stephania was wonderful - she took us to some great places - all different styles and around the city. She was so sweet and caring. This was our first afternoon in Florence after a long 28 Hours of travel. She made sure all of us including my two very tired 7 & 10 year old kids had a great experience!! Our 20 year old enjoyed it and so did my husband and I. We very much recommend this tour, great introduction to the city and its aperitivo tradition!

Great tour!

Our guide Nemi was excellent! She took us to interesting places, some historical, some with great views and some just fun. The food and drinks in each location were perfect and she was filled with interesting information that she shared with us along the tour. We also visited her husbands pizza shop ( Mangie Pizza) the next day near Ponte Vecchio. Great pizza!

A great tour and fun night. Linda our guide took us to some spots in Florence and told us some of the history of wine in Florence. The wine bar establishedI think around 1870 was a highlight.
